International Undergraduate Requirements

Freshman (less than 24 hours of completed college-level course work)
  • Application Form 
  • Application Fee ($75.00)
  • Official academic records from all secondary schools attended
    • These records must be sent directly from the school or an official school representative.
  • Proof of English proficiency, in one of the following forms:
    • iBT TOEFL (71)
    • IELTS (6.0)
    • SAT Critical Reading (450)
    • ACT English/Writing (19)
    • Diploma from a U.S. high school, with two years attendance
    • Diploma from a high school in an exempt country
Students who do not meet the English Language requirement may apply for conditional admission.  Conditionally admitted students are required to complete a course of study at the ECU Language Academy. Please email ecula@ecu.edu with any questions.

Transfer students (24 or more hours of completed college-level course work)
  • Application Form 
  • Application Fee ($75.00)
  • All Official university transcripts
    • Transcripts from U.S. colleges or universities (if applicable)
    • An official course-by-course evaluation of university-level courses taken outside the U.S. (if applicable).  
      • We accept evaluations from agencies that are members of NACES (www.naces.org).  Please also mail copies of the documents submitted to the evaluation agency.
  • Proof of English proficiency, in one of the following forms:
  • iBT TOEFL (71)
    • IELTS (6.0)
    • SAT Critical Reading (450)
    • ACT English/Writing (19)
    • Diploma from a U.S. high school, with two years attendance
    • Diploma from a high school in an exempt country
    • Transcript showing a grade of B or better for an academic English writing/composition course from a U.S. college or university
