East Carolina University (ECU) invites and hires international researchers and scholars from many countries of the world to observe, teach, and conduct research on the main campus and The Brody School of Medicine. There are over 85 researchers and scholars on temporary work visas representing 32 countries. East Carolina University continues to attract internationally known researchers and scholars to this region and state.
The mission of this office is to disseminate information both orally and in writing to faculty, staff, and departments as it relates to immigration issues. This office assures that the University is in compliance with all Federal laws and regulations governing immigration for all foreign faculty, staff, and visitors. J-1, TN, H-1B, and Permanent Residence petitions are filed with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services on behalf of the University.
