Academic Assessment Units

Academic Assessment Units are educational programs defined by degree in TracDat.  Educational programs include undergraduate, graduate, certificates, stand-alone minors, and Foundations courses for on-campus, off-campus, and distance education programs.  Each degree program assesses student learning and strategic planning outcomes. Undergraduate and graduate programs also assess institutional student learning outcomes that support ECU's strategic directions.

Assessment Cycle: Each academic unit on campus should report annual assessment results, action steps, and follow-up quality improvement initiatives by June 1st.  Results from each outcome should be entered directly into TracDat as often as results are generated.  For example, if a standardized test is given annually, then results should be entered once a year.  If a course embedded assessment method is being used each semester, then results should be entered twice a year.
