Space Planning Resources

The following appendices are used for requesting use of ECU facilities.  Appendix A_Authorized Designee form lists the current list of authorized designees for all the applicable buildings on campus.  This list is updated bi-annually by the Space Planning Associate so as to keep the list as current as possible.  The list allows internal and external users to have a contact for reserving facilities. Appendix B_Event Contact Form is the approved form to provide event information to the Authorized Designee.  This form gives event details such as the building requested, contact person and contact information as well as a check list to make sure the appropriate entities have been made aware of the impending event.

The Room Use Code Quick Sheet is the abbreviated version of the Room Use Category Structure. The ten major room use category-series for assignable space defined here are intended to provide necessary flexibility in coding room use at the institutional level and to provide appropriate comparability in reporting room use across institutions.

The Program Classification Structure is a set of categories and related definitions which allows its user to examine the operations of a postsecondary education institution as they relate to the accomplishment of that institution's objectives.  The Program Classification Structure consists of ten major program categories that describe these institutional missions or objectives.

The Category Code classifications used by HEFC for the Room Inventory are an updated adaptation of a taxonomy originally developed by NCES in 1970 for use in the annual Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS).
