Planning at ECU

East Carolina University has established an integrated planning process to accomplish its mission. Successful quality enhancement is contingent upon a shared and cohesive planning process that spans academics, services, resources, and facilities.

The roles and responsibilities of the Executive Committee of the Strategic Planning Committee include:  meeting annually to review the university's Mission, meeting bi-annually to review progress made towards accomplishing the goals of the current Strategic Action Plan, outlined in ECU's key performance indicators, and reviewing the annual Strategic Financial Plan.

ECU engages in ongoing, integrated, and institution-wide research-based planning and evaluation processes to ensure a framework of institutional effectiveness.  ECU currently employs as its primary instrument of institutional effectiveness the Strategic Action Plan 2010-2013 and its associated Key Performance Indicators.

ECU's Executive Committee of the University-Wide Strategic Planning Committee developed a communication plan to ensure that the goals and objectives of the Strategic Action Plan, 2010-2013 are communicated to internal and external audiences.
