Second LifeAcademic Outreach Technology Services supports the campus rollout of this virtual world software, providing project management, technical leadership, administrative support, faculty support and training, student support and training, and total project development and implementation. In addition, AOTS responsibilities include scripting as needed to provide custom solutions for faculty. The Second Life environment provides a synchronous and asynchronous learning platform for ECU faculty and students. Training for Second Life is now covered during the Out and About sessions, along with the group training we offer each semester.The ECU SL campus houses fifteen buildings, including a virtual library helpdesk that houses both Joyner and Laupus libraries, Career Services resources and a mock courtroom with upcoming sessions.
