Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Policies
The following policies, regulations and procedures address concerns as they pertain to sexual harassment, sexual misconduct and/or discrimination on the basis of sex at East Carolina University.
Policies and Procedures
Sexual harassment and discrimination are illegal and endanger the environment of tolerance, civility, and mutual respect that must prevail if the University is to fulfill its mission.
ECU is committed to eliminating sexual misconduct in all forms to include but not limit to domestic violence, relationship violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment and stalking. The university will take appropriate remedial action against any individual found responsible for an act or acts in violation of this regulation.

The ECU Student Code of Conduct is intended to aid in the fulfillment of ECU's mission and in securing the broadest range of freedom for each member of the community. The Student Code of Conduct governs students' on and off campus conduct and sets behavioral standards that protect the health, safety, welfare, property, and human rights of all members of the community as well as the property of the University.
Grievance procedures for complaints of unlawful or prohibited harassment, discrimination or improper relationships brought against East Carolina University faculty members or administrators holding faculty status.

To file a complaint against an employee or visitor, regarding prohibited harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual misconduct, please complete the OED complaint form.
To file a complaint against a student, regarding prohibited harassment, discrimination, and/or sexual misconduct please file a Title IX complaint with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator within the Dean of Students Office.
