Distance Education Workshops

PLEASE NOTE: If you are using your viewing as part of your required DE training, please complete and submit this online reflection form. If you have questions about a reflection you have submitted, please contact Dr. Dorothy Muller at 328-1426.

PLEASE NOTE that the 2011-2012, all faculty who teach in Distance Education are required to complete the 5 DE Modules approved by the University for eligibility to teach in DE. The modules are located in Cornerstone.  Directions for accessing the modules are in this downloadable PDF. If you teach or plan to teach in Distance Education and have not completed the modules, please complete them.  If the DE Modules course isn’t listed in your courses when you sign into Blackboard, contact your department and/or the Office for Faculty Excellence (328-1426 or mullerd@ecu.edu).

Once you have completed the modules, to remain eligible to teach in distance education, you must complete a Distance Education Faculty Development activity annually (post it in Sedona under Faculty Development Distance Education) and include it in your annual report.

East Carolina provides opportunities for faculty development through the Office for Faculty Excellence, ITCS, and colleges.  The OFE attempts to collect the opportunities to share with faculty.  Thanks to the support of faculty, staff, and others, the Office for Faculty Excellence provides many programs each year, including programs appropriate for Faculty Development in Distance Education.  With permission, many of the programs are recorded for viewing by faculty at a distance and others unable to attend the sessions face-to-face. Faculty can view appropriate sessions and complete an online reflection to receive Faculty Development credit. If the reflection form does not appear when you complete viewing, please email mullerd@ecu.edu.
