Blackboard & E-mail TutorialsAs a registered ECU student your course material will be presented through a Course Management program called Blackboard. Since you are signed up for a web based course using Blackboard you are REQUIRED to use your ECU E-mail account (NO EXCEPTIONS). Tutorials and Contact Information
HOW TO FIND YOUR ECU E-MAIL ADDRESS ID:ECU requires all Blackboard students to use the ECU e-mail client without exception. This tutorial will briefly explain how to access this information. Upon registration an ECU e-mail account is created. This account can be found at the following address Click HERE. 1 - Go to http://www.ecu.edu/cs-ecu/email_phone.cfm and type in your first and last name. Make sure that you choose STUDENTS ONLY. Click SEARCH. ![]() 2 - After the search results appear look for your information.Here is an example of those results. In this example the students ECU e-mail address is mck1019@mail.ecu.edu. *** Your ECU e-mail ID in this example is mkl1019 *** ![]() HOW TO CHECK YOUR ECU E-MAIL ADDRESS:1 - Go to http://www.piratemail.ecu.edu and type in your ECU e-mail ID that you searched for in the tutorial above. Hit OK. You will then see the following screen pop up. Type in your ECU E-mail ID (in this example mck1019) and then your ECU e-mail password. Your E-mail password will be the dollar sign and capital E followed by the last 6 digits of your Social Security number (example: $E123456). Once you have typed in your username and password click OK. If you have questions about your E-mail password call the HELP DESK AT 252-328-6866. ![]() ACCESSING YOUR BLACKBOARD CLASSES:1 - Go the the following address to access your Blackboard courses. Click HERE Blackboard Gateway (When you click the Blackboard link it will open a new Window.) Type in your username (your ECU e-mail ID) and your password (dollar sign and capital E followed by the last 6 digits of your Social Security number; example: $E123456) in the screen below. ![]() 2 - The courses listed under " My Courses " should be the set that you are taking in the current semester.
