DE Student Graduate Application Guide

Dear Prospective ECU student,

We are glad you have decided to apply to East Carolina University. You can access online applications, admission requirements and determine associated deadlines at Graduate admissions.

Upon completion of your application and acceptance to the University please keep in mind the following:

Health form/immunizations: Immunizations are not required of distance education students; however if you plan to take face to face courses in the future you will need to have an up-to-date immunization on file with the ECU student health service.

Enrollment deposit: Distance education students are not required to pay an enrollment deposit upon acceptance to the University.

Parking permit: Distance education students do not need to purchase a parking permit.

On-campus orientation: Distance education students are not required to attend an on-campus orientation session unless required by their academic department. Online orientations and tutorials are provided for distance education students at www.options.ecu.edu by clicking Once You're Admitted: Orientation and Tutorials.

Application Process: Applicants for admission to the Graduate School are required to complete a self-managed application prior to consideration for admission. This application requires that the student manage the application process by completing the appropriate forms, gathering the necessary transcripts and letters of recommendation, and returning the forms as one package to the Graduate School. Questions regarding admission must be directed to the Graduate School 252-328-6012.

Please note that admission to the university does not guarantee admission to all degree programs.Each graduate program decides on the admissibility of its students. Some programs will recommend admission by exception for a limited number of students who do not qualify for regular admission if the students have other offsetting strengths.
