The ECU Division of Research regularly sends out lists of funding opportunities that have come to the attention of the University. Investigators may subscribe to these notes (and look through the archive) by visiting their site. There are also links there to additional funding resources. The "Research Funding Opportunities" graphic on the right side of every page on our site links there as well.
ECU subscribes to COS Pivot - this was once called Community of Science. It is a large and well-managed database of funding opportunities. Personnel at COS enter new records every day from a wide array of funding agencies. Users may search anonymously from an ECU computer or create an account which will allow them to log in and use the site from anywhere. Most faculty members will already have a profile at COS which their system has assembled automatically from publicly available data. Once you associate your login with that profile, COS will attempt to customize your searches based on what it knows about you. You should also explore the COS Keyword list - which is the taxonomy of keywords that COS personnel use to tag each funding opportunity record. If you learn the keywords COS uses to characterize your field, you may have greater success using the site.
Giving credit where it is due, many folks love the Duke University Funding Opportunity Site and it is entirely open to all comers! We have touched base with the folks in Durham and they are happy for the traffic. Check it out yourself!
