1 The Program Data Template is a form founded upon the original EPPC framework for measuring attributes of programs: Productivity, Centrality, and Quality. That original framework has been adapted to account for the importance and availability of data and the uniqueness of individual programs. Programs will have opportunity to comment (correct with evidence) on centrally held data contained in the template and to include additional quantitative and qualitative data that are kept at the program level and deemed important. These templates are explicitly intended to place each program within the strongest possible light. Incomplete templates are distributed to programs from the PPC and completed templates are returned to the PPC and to the college dean.
2 The College Self-Study is the prioritization of a college's programs based on careful evaluation of Program Data Templates in the context of college mission and strategic plan. These college self-studies are intended to permit relative autonomy and self-determination within the larger process and are a key component used by the PPC to arrive at its own recommendations. The Self-Study will be distributed to the college in draft form and finalized after feedback from the college community. Finalized Self-Studies will be available at the PPC web site.
3 University Self-Study includes a background statement on prioritization the PPC's program priorities ranging from low to high (or a similar ordinal scaling) and are based upon evaluation across college Self Studies and individual Program Data Templates in the context of university mission and strategic plan. At this level of deliberation, priorities are mission-driven and data-informed. The University Self-Study will be distributed in draft form and finalized after feedback from the entire university community. The document represents the PPC's recommendation to the Chancellor.
4 The PPC's Reorganization White Paper includes a background statement on university reorganization efforts and the key criteria that should be considered. After that context is established, the PPC will provides three menus of possible change at divisional, collegiate, and departmental levels (a total of 56 possible change items). The intent is to receive campus feedback (including on-line survey and college forums) on these structural candidates and to modify accordingly. Some will be assembled into change scenarios with a second round of feedback received by March 30.
5 Structured for Excellence contains a proposal for potential university reorganization. The document will be distributed in draft form with additional opportunity for campus feedback, including a university forum. Based on feedback, the proposed structure will be finalized and Structured for Excellence will be presented to the Chancellor as the PPC's final recommendation.
