The university's academic catalogs are for informational purposes only, and do not constitute a contractual agreement between a student and East Carolina University. The university reserves the right to make changes in curricula, degree requirements, course offerings, or academic regulations at any time when, in the judgment of the faculty, the chancellor, or the Board of Trustees, such changes are in the best interest of the students and the university.
A degree-seeking student enters ECU under the catalog in effect at the time of his or her official enrollment. This means that a student entering ECU in the fall of 2017, or in the spring of 2018, would follow degree requirements listed in the catalog for the 2017-2018 academic year. A student can choose to graduate under a catalog published after the enrollment date.
