Discipline Specific Workshop
In an effort to offer more proactive forms of research and external funding support, the Division of Research and Graduate Studies has begun organizing a series of outreach efforts designed to offer “customized” external funding presentations/workshops at the unit (college or school) level. This support includes:
“how to be more productive when developing external funding submissions” including suggestions/recommendations specific to the faculty in the recipient unit,
addressing some of the more ticklish issues that faculty routinely voice such as indirect costs, internal processing paperwork, university submission process,
seeking foundation funding as an alternative to peer-reviewed proposals, and
leveraging external funding support resources to increase proposal competitiveness.
While the broader objective of these workshops is to cover the range of external funding options and support services offered by the Division of Research and Graduate Studies, the goal is to custom design programs and workshops that more specifically meet the needs of faculty, especially emerging faculty, rather than rely on a one-size-fits-all philosophy.
