Checklist: How to Submit a Proposal
The above document provides a step-by-step outline of how to prepare an external grant/contract proposal and obtain departmental, college/school, and University approvals. Approvals must be obtained BEFORE submission.

Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) helps faculty obtain external grants and contracts. OSP can help find funding sources, aid in proposal development and negotiate contract awards on your behalf. OSP also reviews proposals to assure that all applicable University regulations are followed prior to submission, and tracks and reports on all faculty proposals and awards for the ECU and UNC administration. Databases for finding external grants & contracts
The University subscribes to a number of online databases which faculty may access directly to search for external funding opportunities. You may also set up an alert service through the Community of Science that will email you new opportunities as they become available. Contact OSP for instructions on their use if needed.
