Research and Creative Activities Reassignment Program
and administered by the Division of Research and Graduate Studies in
partnership with the Academic Affairs and Health Sciences Divisions
Purpose: To reassign faculty effort during the 2014-2015 academic year and thereby provide dedicated time to apply for extramural funding in support of research and creative activities. Under the Program , tenured or tenure-track faculty member in either a 9 month or 12 month appointments will be provide with up to $5000 in the Fall or Spring Semesters to "buyout" teaching and service assignments , thereby increasing the time available to prepare and submit an application for extramural funding. The applicant must present a well-defined project and supporting evidence that will form the basis of a proposal for extramural funding. A specific funding opportunity , sponsor, and deadline for proposal submission must be identified. The number of awards is determined by the quality of proposals, number of requests, and availability of funds in the final NC State Budget.
Expectation: Award recipients will compile a proposal soliciting extramural funding for their research and/or creative activity , solicit critical review of the proposal prior to its submission to an external sponsor, and then submit the final proposal to the specific funding opportunity for which the reassignment funding was awarded.
