Charge
The Research and Information Technology Committee (RITC) is an advisory committee to the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies and reports to the Information Resources Coordinating Council (IRCC). Its charge is to serve as an advocate for the ECU research community’s information technology needs by working collaboratively across university divisions to assess needs, identify resources to meet needs, and make policy recommendations for further development, management, and use of research oriented information technology. The Committee will conduct assessments of research-related computer and information systems at East Carolina University as well as those of other research programs at other universities and incorporate their findings in an on-going planning/recommendation process that are consistent with the overall strategic plan for research. The Committee will also provide advice and oversight to principle investigators and budget units as they plan and develop computer technology in their research endeavors.
