Research Development Award Program
Sponsored and Administered by the Division of Research and Graduate Studies
Purpose: To increase our portfolio of externally supported research at ECU. The program provides seed funds for faculty members to develop preliminary data for a major research grant application to an external sponsor. Proposals for new basic or applied research or bridge funding are welcome. Two types of awards are available: Individual PI and interdisciplinary multi-PI project awards. In multi-PI projects, which can request higher levels of funding, the PIs must be from different departments. Submission of a major proposal to an external sponsor is required within18 months after the start of the award. Call for proposals are usually in the Fall semester with applications due in January or February.
