University Research Council
Purpose
The University Research Council (URC) is a broad based faculty assembly whose purpose is to provide an effective platform of communication with the Vice Chancellor’s Office concerning issues and opportunities that are related to ECU’s research enterprise. This 15 member Council spans the enterprise with varied experiences and perceptions. The URC provides important advisory input to research policy formation, operating procedures, program design and implementation, and strategic planning. As such, the URC is intended to provide an important research leadership function. The Council’s calendar includes six stated meetings per calendar year and called meetings as needed. Members normally are appointed for two year terms by the Vice Chancellor after consultation with Colleges and Schools.
