Process & Suggested Schedule
Schedule can be modified to accommodate faculty needs.
2 Months prior to Proposal Due Date
Faculty member requests the service from the program administrator and provides relevant information including faculty name, department, project title, due date, prospective sponsor and amount to be requested. The administrator will confirm eligibility and then ask the faculty member to identify and recruit up to two external experts to read his/her proposals and provide written comments.
About 1-2 weeks later
Faculty member provides the names, institutions and contact information of the external reviewers to the Division's administrator.
Shortly thereafter,
Faculty member provides a draft proposal (preferably electronic) to the external reviewers with a copy to the program administrator. The faculty member should make appropriate arrangements with the external reviewers to receive the external reviewer comments in time for their use in preparing the final application. The program administrator will also provide the external reviewers with the information needed for honorarium payment.
About 1-2 weeks later, several weeks before the due date,
Reviewers return written comments to faculty member with copies to the Division administrator who will arrange for honorarium checks to be mailed.
