Margaret D. Bauer, author of The Fiction of Ellen Gilchrist (University Press of Florida, 1999) and William Faulkner’s Legacy: "what shadow, what stain, what mark" (University Press of Florida, 2005), is the Rives Chair of Southern Literature, Editor of the North Carolina Literary Review, and Professor of English at East Carolina University, where she was named one of the ten ECU Women of Distinction in 2007 and the Harriot College of Arts and Science Scholar/Teacher Award recipient in 2004.
