Community Outreach Interests

My interests lie in working with not-for-profit organizations in collaboration with the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center at ECU to develop quality marketing information reports. This identification of community partners and projects fosters volunteer activities for students and faculty while maintaining positive partner relationships.

Research Interests

Research conducted in conjunction with the Center focuses on the impact second homes express in the community, whether positive or negative. Sustainable tourism development embraces the need to foster and protect community "sense of place" in order to balance the vitality of the tourism economy and the quality of community experience for both residents and visitors alike. The outcome of this research constructs an assessment of community economics, business development, public policy, and overall community sense of place. Prior and ongoing research interests include the study of marketing research and data collection methodology. Current surveys are directed towards sales and marketing professionals.
