Eligibility for the Program

Students accepted into the program meet the following criteria.

• Eligibility requirements:
  • Have applied to East Carolina University
  • Be a traditional incoming freshmen
  • Applicants for the MD in 7 program, must be North Carolina residents to be considered eligible
    
    
• Academic requirements:
  • High School cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • SAT total score of 1200 combined verbal and math
  • High school rank in the top 10 percent of the senior class.

Students are strongly encouraged to meet as least two of the stated academic requirements. If they do not meet all three, then they may be be nominated by their high school counselor for acceptance into the program. Letters of nomination should be sent to:
