Graduate Study Connections

One of the benefits of the Degree in Three Program is acceleration to graduate study. All students in the program are encouraged to meet with representatives of graduate programs to learn more about graduate admission policies and procedures. A number of ECU graduate programs are developing templates to provide information about how students can complete an undergraduate and graduate degree more quickly.

Graduate Study Connections Examples:

  • Students completing the Degree in Three Program in psychology who want to teach in elementary school can complete the MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching Degree).
  • By completing the business minor and maintaining very good grades in undergraduate school, students completing the Degree in Three Program in English can also complete the MBA in one additional year.
  • Students who complete the Degree in Three Program in Exercise Physiology can move more quickly into graduate study in Physical Therapy.
  • Students can investigate integrated and accelerated bachelor's/master's degree programs, which are currently available in a limited number of degree programs.

Professional Study Connection:

  • Many students in the Degree in Three Program are preparing for entrance into medical, dental, optometry, law, or other professional degree programs. These students work with advisers and program coordinators to meet the professional school admission requirements and follow the accelerated timeline.
