He served two stints in the department of history at the US Air Force Academy. At the Academy, he led in creating, directing, and teaching interdisciplinary courses.  Dr. Rice has also held a number of positions in academic administration within military education programs and at the Academy.

Our sincerest gratitude is extended to Dr. Nelson Cooper who has served as the interim director of the University Studies program during the initial year of planning and implementation.  His leadership has been outstanding as he has helped get the program off to a successful start.
