WI Instructor Resources

The University Writing Program offers various professional development workshops and opportunities for involved faculty members, including

• Writing Instruction Across the Disciplines Professional Development Series:  Each semester, the UWP offers a series of workshops on various aspects of teaching writing within and across the disciplines.

• Writing Across the Curriculum Academy:  The WAC Academy seeks to develop a community of instructors of writing. The WAC Academy is open to all instructors at ECU, across all disciplines.  During the Academy, participants have time to read and write, prepare demonstrations of research-based model lessons involving writing, and talk to colleagues about techniques they have used successfully to help their students become better writers and thinkers.

• Department-specific Workshops:  At the request of WI faculty, members of the University Writing Program will conduct workshops on topics of concern to individual departments. Contact the Director of UWP.

• Meetings with Individual WI Instructors:  The Director and Assistant Director of the UWP are available for consultations with Individual faculty, online or face-to-face. Contact Will Banks or Kerri Flinchbaugh to set up a meeting.
