Procedures for WI Approval

1. Download and complete the proposal below.

2. Attach a course syllabus to this proposal.

3. Submit this proposal to your department chair or dean and request a letter of support for designating this course or section of a course writing-intensive.

4. The unit head should then send proposals to the Writing Across the Curriculum Committee. Please submit all information to the WAC committee via an email to the program assistant. All material should be sent as Word documents. If the committee needs more information to act on your proposal, you will be invited to discuss the proposal with the committee.

      Note: Proposals must be received at least two weeks prior to a scheduled WAC committee meeting to be reviewed at that meeting.

5. When your proposal is approved, you and your department are members of the ECU WAC Program.
