Based on the responses to student and faculty surveys, the feedback received from focus groups with local employers, research into published literature and best practices, and extensive discussion within and across ECU's campus, university writing outcomes were developed for ECU's writing-intensive (WI) courses. While these outcomes started as part of our campus's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) for regional accreditation, the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Committee and the Faculty Senate then adopted them across the disciplines for WI courses.
