Setting Up a Bookstore Account
With the ECU 1 Card Bookstore Account!
The Bookstore Account is an "ON-LINE" ACCOUNT on the ECU 1 Card managed through Dowdy Student Stores and the ECU Cashier's Office. This account is used to purchase books and supplies at ECU Dowdy Student Stores and the Medical Bookstore. Funds can be added at any time through the Cashier's Office. The account is then debited with each purchase at the bookstore.
Upon request, the Cashier's Office can also defer financial aid funds,
including scholarship money, to the bookstore account.
Cash, check, and credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard) are also accepted to set up a bookstore account.
Setting Up a Bookstore Account
With Financial Aid or Scholarship Funds!
In order for a student to pay for textbooks with financial aid or any type of scholarship, other than a bookstore scholarship, money must be deferred to a bookstore account. To make this as easy as possible, please follow the steps below.
Contact the Cashier's Office, located in the Old Cafeteria Complex across from Joyner Library, to defer money to a bookstore account. Please contact the Student Store for assistance with any unusual circumstances.
For incoming freshmen, we recommend that you defer at least $400 for your books. There is no way to determine the exact cost of textbooks; however, money remaining in the account after textbooks have been charged may be refunded to you later in the semester or held on account for charging purchases in the Student Store throughout the semester.
Funds placed on your Bookstore Account will roll over yearly. If you withdraw from school, a full refund of any unused funds will be issued minus a small processing fee.
