Position Classification
The Office of EPA Personnel Administration is available to provide assistance and consultation concerning EPA Non-Faculty positions. Please contact the Assistant Vice Chancellor for EPA Administration for more information on how to:
- Establish new positions
- Reclassify existing positions; or
- Change the duties of an existing position
Units also need to consult the appropriate College or Divisional administrator(s) to be sure all required actions and processes are understood and completed correctly.

EPA Non-Faculty Compensation
EPA Non-Faculty salary data (including market data, salary equity studies, and the like) are available. Please contact the Assistant Vice Chancellor for EPA Administration to request this information.
EPA Non-Faculty Salary Adjustments are typically completed during the beginning of the fiscal year. Adjustments made outside of the typical process (also referred to as the "legislative increase process - LI") need to follow ECU's current Compensation Increase Rules.
Salary increases of $10,000 and 15% or more above the previous June 30th base salary require approval of the Chancellor and the Board of Governors.

Employee Resources Program
From financial pressures to workplace stress and family dealings, life can be challenging. If you need help with life issues, the East Carolina University Employee Resources Program is available. The ERP is a confidential counseling and resource program that is designed to help university employees and their families deal with both personal and work-related concerns. All permanent employees and their dependents are eligible. The initial consultation is a free service to eligible employees.
