The State of North Carolina offers a tuition waiver program for educational assistance of ECU employees and the employees of the sister institutions of higher learning within the UNC System.  An eligible employee, within the sixteen university campus system, is allowed to take two credit bearing courses in an academic year, without tuition and fees cost.  Special course fees are still the financial responsibility of the employee.  Tuition waivers are granted to permanent full-time employees based on academic eligibility, class availability, and supervisor approval.                  

The Business Services Textbook Loan Program allows eligible ECU employees to apply to borrow required textbooks from Dowdy Student Stores for classes taken at ECU for themselves for eligible family members.  In order to participate in the program, specific criteria must be met, and a Textbook Loan Application Form must be completed. 
The mission of the ECU Office for Faculty Excellence is to provide faculty (including tenured, tenure-track, adjunct, and emerging faculty) with the resources and services that foster and support their success at the university in teaching, research, and service.  The OFE website provides a variety of resources as well as a workshop calendar for upcoming training.

The ECU Physicians Office of Staff Development and Training is responsible for providing and facilitating programs and services to help individuals and departments, within the BSOM and ECU Physicians, achieve their professional development and compliance training needs.  

For programs aimed to help improve your health and assist you in creating a balanced and healthy lifestyle, Campus Recreation and Wellness is an excellent resource in providing a variety of fitness activities.  
In support of its mission to achieve safety and environmental excellence throughout the University, the Office of Environmental Health & Safety provides a variety of training resources for University employees.

The Division of Continuing Studies is ECU's office for continuing professional education programs.  DCS's flexible courses and programs help people of all backgrounds, ages, and stages of life fulfill their educational goals.

The Learning & Development Team within the NC Office of Human Resources is dedicated to providing a variety of courses and curriculum for the various states of an employee's career.  The programs offered by OSHR are targeted to multiple levels of public sector managers, supervisors, administrative support specialists, HR professionals, as well as individual contributors who want to increase their knowledge and improve their skills to become more effective in their roles.
