David Redwine, a former state representative from Brunswick County, was named to the East Carolina University Board of Trustees by the Board Of Governors.

Redwine, a 10-term member of the General Assembly and former co-chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, narrowly lost a re-election bid in November.

Redwine, an insurance broker and a 1972 graduate of ECU, was sworn in at the board's July 30 meeting in 2003.
