MARGARET C. WARD
ECU BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Margaret C. Ward of Burlington, a noted civic leader and a longtime supporter of East Carolina University, was appointed by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors in 2000.
She and her husband, Robert A. Ward, a former Chairman of the ECU Board, are major benefactors of the University, and the Ward Sports Medicine Building on the campus is named for them.
Margaret Ward is a member of the ECU Foundation Board, the Alumni Association Board, Chancellor's Society, and the Pirate Club. She also is a member of the Board of Visitors of Elon College, the North Carolina Film Council, and an active volunteer for the Alamance Arts Council.
In addition, Ward has received the Distinguished Service Award from ECU in 1992.
Mrs. Ward holds two degrees from ECU, a BS and MA in Elementary Education.
