He joined the Board of Trustees on September 30, 2005. Mr. Lucas also served on the Board of Trustees as SGA President in 1974 - 75. In addition to the ECU Board of Trustees, Mr. Lucas is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Academy of Trial Lawyers. He has served as president of the Johnston County Bar Association and is a former mayor of Selma. Mr. Lucas earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from East Carolina University and his law degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
