MARK TIPTON
ECU BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Mark Tipton, a Raleigh-based developer, and longtime supporter of East Carolina University, has been named to the university Board of Trustees by the University of North Carolina Board of Governors.

Tipton, managing partner and owner of Whistler Investment Group and a former president of the National Association of Home Builders, was sworn in for a four-year term at the board's July meeting. He replaced Dan Kinlaw, whose board term expired.

Tipton, a 1973 graduate of ECU, is a member of the ECU Foundation Board of Directors and received an Outstanding Alumni Award in 1994.
