YOUR PLACE IN ECU TOMORROW
I am pleased to share with you the attached document “Your Place in ECU Tomorrow”. Four major initiatives specifically target our future and enhance ECU Tomorrow – A Vision for Leadership and Service which I initially outlined in The Chancellor’s View on October 27 2007. http://www.ecu.edu/chancellor/ecutomorrow.cfm.
A unified understanding of these initiatives in the framework of our strategic directions offers us the opportunity of continuing to improve as an institution. UNC Tomorrow, the 2008 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, the Framework for 21st Century Learning and our regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools are opportunities for helping us create, recognize, and value our identity as a national doctoral research university and national model for serving a region. These initiatives encourage us to think through what we do in a consistent systematic approach.
Collectively, the ownership, responsibility and accountability for these initiatives lie with each of us. Please take advantage of the many opportunities to participate in and contribute to the quality of these initiatives. Each is important and together they provide an enhanced blueprint for our future.
