The State of North Carolina offers a tuition waiver program (G.S. 116-143 and Administrative Memorandum #92) for educational assistance of E.C.U. employees and the employees of the sister institutions of higher learning within the U.N.C. System. An eligible employee, within the sixteen university campus system, is allowed to take two credit bearing courses  in an academic year, without tuition and fees cost. Special course fees are still the financial responsibility of the employee. Tuition waivers are granted to permanent full-time employees who are academically eligible, class availability, and supervisor approval.
