Classification & Compensation
Classification & Compensation is responsible for administering the State of North Carolina Classification & Compensation Plan for ECU positions subject to the State Personnel Act (SPA)
Objectives of this unit:
- Maintain campus wide equity in job classification by applying consistent criteria to the duties and responsibilities assigned to the SPA positions.
- Assist the campus in effectively and appropriately utilizing the State Classification Systems and compensation plan to meet organizational needs.
- Implement Career Banding.

- Address questions and issues regarding classification and compensation polices and procedures.
- Traning and consultation on salary equity and organizational design.
- Salary Surveys.
- Development of new pay plans and/or salary range revisions.
