Consulting and Development Services
Staff Development & Training offers consulting and development services to Divisions, Departments, Units and teams or individuals in need of customized training initiatives. The Department of Human Resources have Staff Development Specialists who are experienced in assessing, administering and providing mangers with a multitude of workforce related skills training. In addition these Specialists can recommend external resources to accommodate the learning needs of the entire University workforce.
Common requests for consulting and assessment involve assisting teams with communication, customer service skills, strategic unit planning, developing specific critical skills, team projects, management theory and process as well as Leadership and mentoring training. Much of the one-on-one and unit coaching include detailed work with supervisor and employee relations issues, work force development and critical skill building.

The Staff Development Coordinator will contact you to conduct a detailed review of specific goals, objectives and needs assessment tools. Your request is then presented to the Director of Employee Relations Staff Development Unit to discuss and make appropriate recommendations based upon needs assessment, policy and procedural concerns, logistics and other viable details to best implement the projected training structure.
The ERSD Unit makes every effort to foster a positive and structured learning environment utilizing the most up to date training tools while minimizing the impact on organizational workforce scheduling.
Please allow 30 business days to process all requests so that a careful and thorough analysis processed as there are a limited number of Staff Development Coordinators and Specialists providing these services. Dependant upon University training initiatives, resources and availability may be limited.
