Wellness and Preventative Services Benefits

The State Health Plan is committed to providing preventive services at the lowest cost possible to help members lead healthy, happy and productive lives. Wellness and preventive care benefits include routine physical and screening procedures, immunizations, and new North Carolina wellness benefits such as one-on-one health coaching about lifestyle issues, an interactive Web site, and educational resources.

Routine Physical and Screening Procedures The State Health Plan provides its members with a $150 wellness benefit per Plan year (July 1 - June 30). The State Health Plan will pay 100 percent of allowable charges up to the $150 maximum. The $150 wellness benefit is not subject to deductible and co-insurance. The member remains responsible for the $15 co-payment for professional services.
