The Information Resources Coordinating Council (IRCC) makes recommendations to the Chief Information Officer on information technology innovation, coordination, collaboration, policy, and communication of actions by East Carolina University and its constituents. This includes but is not limited to recommendations on information technology planning, implementation, assessment, policies and other information technology related activities. The Council ensures communication between and makes recommendations on the actions of university committees, task forces, administrative and other bodies seeking to plan or implement information technology initiatives, including but not limited to IT policies, the planning and implementation of new projects, and the change or elimination of current projects or other actions. The routine work of the Council is carried out by its Executive Board (see charge below).
The Council shall review information technology policy, planning and implementation actions, proposals to plan or implementations that may have a significant impact on the University. The Council receives from the Executive Board reports on its actions. The IRCC or the Executive Board may choose to submit matters materially affecting faculty or students to the ITRC for its recommendation.
The IRCC charge may be amended by a vote of two-thirds of the Members present at a meeting of the IRCC at a meeting held no sooner than one month after the motion to amend in final form is placed on the floor for information or discussion.
