The Chief Information Officer is the administrative officer responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of information technology across the campus. The Information Resources Coordinating Council (IRCC) is the campus-wide committee that advises the Chief Information Officer. It is composed of representatives from across campus and is chaired by the Chief Information Officer.
The ongoing work of the IRCC is done by the Executive Board. Campus committees responsible for specific information technology sectors on campus (e.g. the Administrative Computing Committee, the Information Systems Steering Committee) function as subcommittees of the IRCC and provide monthly reports to the Executive Board. The faculty Information Technology Review Committee (ITRC), a committee of the Faculty Senate, works with the IRCC and provides recommendations to the IRCC.
The ITRC also makes recommendations to the Chancellor through the Faculty Senate. Strong coordination of the IRCC with the ITRC is provided through interlocking membership of the two committees. IRCC members are expected to have a broad interest in and knowledge of campus information technology issues.
