EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY, ATHLETICS AND THE BRAND
Our Athletics Brand derives from a long history of character, determination, pride and purpose that has built East Carolina into a great university. As we carry this Brand of East Carolina Athletics, we also represent the countless numbers of current and former ECU student-athletes, alumni and supporters who share this same spirit, values, drive and determination they carry through their lives beyond the institution.

ATHLETICS BRAND GUIDELINES
The success of each unit of the university collectively contributes to the institution's overall reputation. Likewise, the reputation of the university influences the success and standing of each unit. Athletics is the university's most visible unit on a daily basis. Its wide reach and visibility carries a great responsibility to always present a consistent, high-quality image supporting East Carolina University.

Brand standards ensure that all athletics advertising and promotional material share a common look consistent within university branding and marketing efforts. These standards apply to displays, uniforms, team apparel, equipment, facilities - every visible athletics representation. The elements of the visual identity outlined in the following pages define a unified consistent brand for the athletics program.

The framework for our athletics branding creates limits on design options, but disciplined simplicity and consistency is imperative for high-level branding. Any deviation from the official identity as shown in this Guide, or specified in the Athletics Identity Standard Guideline, is not permitted for the sake of the powerful local, regional and national brand we work so hard to earn.

All athletics units are required to adhere to these branding and identity standards.
