What would you tell a prospective student about ECU?
You don't have to decide what you want to major in immediately. In my ECU career, I've majored in two different things and had five minors. Just keep choosing until you find what's best for you. There is almost always something to do on the weekends and football games are always fun to go to. It has everything you could ever want in a university; professors who care, classes that are engaging, and people who make it all worth while.
Is there anything about ECU you wish everyone could experience?
I wish that everyone who attends ECU would be actively involved in a student organization. Getting involved in any organization within your first year is a very good way to get your feet in any door. It helps you create friendships and network to possibly further your chances in getting into the career of your choice. Bottom line: Get involved as soon as you can! Don't just come to ECU to party everyday. Join a student organization, whether it be an intramural team, Residence Hall Association, Greek organization, Student Government, anything. Participate as much as you can and you will benefit from it greatly.
What is your favorite ECU memory?
March 19, 2008. That was the day I, and six other ladies, introduced ourselves to the the East Carolina community as the new members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. That whole day was incredibly hectic, but it was just as exciting. I remember it as if it were yesterday.
You hope to become an entertainment reporter. What is it about celebrities that you like?
I’m not exactly sure where it came from, I think maybe its from when I was younger and I used to always watch MTV, even when I wasn’t allowed to. I just started to enjoy watching celebrities, especially the ones that were involved in charity work, and doing something with their celebrity that helps people. I think that can be really powerful, and I admire those that work to make the world a better place.
Is there anything you'd like people to know about you?
I can name all the US Presidents in order. My record is 11 seconds. I am very proud of that.
