Tell me about your future career goals.
I am majoring in chemistry and minoring in biology and psychology. After I graduate from ECU, I want to go to pharmacy school and possibly get a dual MBA degree, as well. One day, I would like to own and operate my own pharmacy.
How has ECU changed you as a person?
While at ECU, I have become more professional, and I hold myself to a higher standard. I have learned that everyone sees what I am doing at all times, which means that I must always reflect the kind of person I am in every situation. ECU has given me a sense of pride in everything that I do, and I am so proud to be a Pirate. I believe that anything worth doing is worth putting effort into and working for. That’s why I picked my major. That’s why I joined my fraternity. ECU makes me want to make a difference in the people that I am around.
Tell me more about what makes you proud to be a Pirate.
I am first and foremost proud of our school spirit. You may hear about other schools where people say, “We are a nice school.” But, at ECU, we believe in ourselves. Since enrolling at ECU, I have sported the Purple and Gold and have tried to represent the Pirates to the best of my ability.
I am also proud to be an undergrad in the Department of Chemistry. The professors are the most approachable and dedicated professionals that I have had the pleasure to learn from and work with. They have a genuine care for the students.
What would you tell a prospective student about ECU?
ECU definitely is the place to be. Here, you can achieve your academic and professional goals, while developing into the person you will be for the rest of your life. Additionally, ECU is very diverse. You will encounter people from all walks of life that have different views of the world. I am glad that I ended up at ECU. It has made a positive impact on my life, and I am forever grateful for the time I have spent here and for the experiences still to come. There is an indescribable feeling of being a Pirate and knowing you will be a Pirate for life.
