A stadium full of graduates
“Show respect for women, men and diversity of culture through language messages,” Dr. Valeria O. Lovelace '73 (left) said in her commencement address to graduates on May 10 inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. “Use your network to show (high school students) how people like you can graduate," she said. Lovelace is president and founder of Media Transformations, an educational research and production company, and an adjunct professor at Bergen Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University. She formerly directed research for “Sesame Street.” About 4,000 students received their diplomas at spring graduation. This was the first time graduates sat on the field rather than in the stands.
