What is your favorite Homecoming memory?

My favorite memory is making the top five on the Homecoming Court, representing the entire Panhellenic community, and having the opportunity to walk on the field at half time!

What is your essential Pirate Homecoming tailgating food?
You really can't go wrong with Bojangles'. Mashed potatoes, fries and fried chicken are definitely a must!

Why is it important to celebrate Homecoming every year?
As a current student, I believe it is essential to have the continued support from our alumni. We have the week of Homecoming to honor those Pirates who are no longer in school. I think it's a time for alumni, staff, faculty, and students to come together and celebrate being a Pirate.

When East Carolina University cheerleader Alexis Sullivan somersaults across the sidelines at Pirate football games, there’s no hint of what she’s been through the past year.

She resumed reduced training only three months after the surgery, participated in ECU’s bid at the national collegiate cheerleading competition in Daytona Beach, Fla., in April, and has steadily increased her endurance since then.

I love all of the special events during Homecoming week! It's fun to see how all of the different students organizations express their Pirate pride!

What is your favorite Homecoming memory?
My first skit night was a BLAST!

As a freshman, I didn't know very much about Pirate traditions just yet, but I learned a lot in preparing for the competition with my ECU Ambassador family!

As a Pirate, why do you feel it is important for the university to celebrate Homecoming every year?
It's really exciting to look back on where we've come from as we head into the future of ECU.

It's a fun way to commemorate all the Pirates that have come before us to make our school the great place it is today!
