ECU’s Leadership Academy is now accepting applications. Under the auspices of the Office of the Chancellor, the academy offers leadership development to faculty and staff members. Participants are required to complete a team project on an approved topic of importance to ECU and the region. Sessions are led by university leaders and offer information on university structure, diversity, student development, strategic planning, assessment and law.
Between 15-20 students comprise the academy, which will be offered in the spring semester. Time commitment includes a weekly two-hour session as well as a 90-minute team project session. Participants who successfully complete the Academy will receive a certificate and a $300 stipend.
ECU faculty and staff who possess a bachelor’s degree and who have completed three or more years of service at ECU are eligible to apply. Those faculty and staff who are dedicated to the interests of the university and who possess a desire to assume an advanced leadership role are encouraged to apply. Applications are available atwww.ecu.edu/leadershipand must be submitted by Nov. 28, 2005. Hardcopy applications are available at the human resources office, the office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences and through the Faculty Senate.
