Luncheon and reading with Jill McCorkle:

12:30-2:30 , Saturday, Nov. 3, Mendenhall Student Center, $15 public, includes lunch (free for conference attendees)

A native of Lumberton, NC and a graduate of the University of North Carolina and the Hollins College Masters program in writing, she made literary history at the age of twenty-six, publishing her first two novels simultaneously.  Her five novels, July 7th, The Cheer Leader, Tending to Virginia, Ferris Beach, and Carolina Moon encompass the variety of Southern life and womanhood, and her three collections of short stories, Crash Diet, Final Vinyl Days, and Creatures of Habit balance the themes of change and acceptance with a deft wit and grace. She teaches writing at N.C. State University and Bennington College in VT. It is hard to imagine contemporary writing or southern writing without her influence.

FOR TICKETS (not available after Oct. 28):

Purchase tickets online HERE or by calling the Central Ticket Office at 252-328-4788 or 1-800-ECU-ARTS.
