Tie with foreign university open horizons
The Times of India

VADODARA: MS University will soon open a window to the world for its students, having tied up with a number of foreign universities for exchange programmes and virtual classrooms.

Students of journalism and communication are part of the virtual education project launched by its US partner East Carolina University (ECU).

The project — Global Understanding Course — aims at providing a platform to students to learn about other cultures.

The faculty of fine arts has started a student exchange programme with Paris's premier fine arts college — Ecole Nationale Superierure Beau Arts.

Officials are also exploring tie-ups with three US universities for the faculty of medicine and the faculty of technology and engineering.

In addition, the medicine faculty is working on a project with South Florida University, and the technology faculty is involved in projects with University of Iowa and Rutgers University.

"We are exploring the possibility of more research projects with other universities, MNCs and perhaps, joint academic programmes to train teachers.

We are keen on student exchanges as they can get a feel of MNCs through internships," says vice-chancellor Manoj Soni.

Soni is scheduled to meet officials of different universities and MNCs later in the month. Professor emeritus at the University of Iowa, Virendra Patel, recently visited the technology faculty.
